SERVICES

As well as our Information and Equipment services, DRC Queenstown has other services available.

TOTAL MOBILITY
We are a Total Mobility Scheme Assessment Agency. This means that we can assist you to apply for concessions on Taxi travel if you are a person with a disability.

WEKA ACCESS SITE
People wishing to search for disability information are welcome to visit the Centre and access the WEKA website. Please call to book computer time. Full assistance will be given.

FUNDVIEW DATABASE
Community organisations seeking funding should check out the Fundview Database at our Centre. Give us a call or visit us and we can research the options available and assist you to find potential funders.

BARRIER FREE ASSESSMENTS

We have a qualified Barrier Free Advisor available to check whether buildings comply with the legal requirements for disability access. Developers, architects or builders should contact us at the planning stages to ensure compliance and avoid costly rebuilds. Likewise, any businesses who are considering expanding or making major alterations to their premises need to get an opinion from our Adviser before building begins.

ACCESSIBLE TOURISM ADVICE

We welcome enquiries from people in New Zealand, or overseas, who wish to visit Queenstown and need to know what is accessible for them. We can advise on everything from accommodation to transport to recreational activities. Simply contact us and we will work with you to ensure your visit to our beautiful town is successful.

DISABILITY AWARENESS PROMOTION

Our staff are available to speak to groups about disability awareness and how our Centre is working to remove some of the barriers that disable people. These sessions are a must for community groups, hospitality and tourism staff, government agencies and teachers/students. Contact us to book a session.
